Entering Contacts and Permissions Boxes

When adding a contact manually or importing contacts, there are boxes that must be checked that indicate you have permission to email and/or text your contacts.

When you subscribe to LoLo, you agree to terms, including, "that I have an existing relationship with all gift recipients (eg: client, friend, etc) and that I have obtained the consent to receive text messages related to LoLo Gifts (if applicable). I understand that rented or purchased lists are not allowed."
These terms are designed to protect both you and your recipients by ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws, preventing the unintended sending of unsolicited marketing messages. Additionally, they help ensure that the Local Gift of the Month is sent to contacts who are likely to appreciate and engage with these communications.
These checkboxes do not affect gift delivery. The only thing that matters for that is the contact’s status—if they are active, the platform will try to send a gift. The checkboxes do not currently factor into status.

Here's how the checkboxes work:
  • When manually adding a contact in LoLo using the form, you must check the boxes to save the contact. This just serves as a reminder of the terms.
  • When editing a contact, you don’t have to check them again. Even if they appear unchecked.
  • When importing a file of contacts, similar checkboxes appear on the first step, where you choose your file for upload.
  • If contacts come from a CRM, there’s no checkbox requirement right now (the subscription terms cover it).
For now, don’t worry if you see them unchecked. If they need to be checked (like when adding a new contact manually), the form will let you know.
